What Actually Supports Healthy Hair Growth?

Four different problems that all get called "my hair won't grow".

Name the problem first

What it isWhere it happensWhat tends to influence it
Follicular growthInside the scalpGenetics, health, hormones, age
SheddingRelease of completed fibresCycle changes, health events, life stage
BreakageAlong the strandForce, heat, chemistry, friction
Length retentionThe endsHow much breakage you avoid over months

What cosmetic products can and cannot do

Shampoos, conditioners, oils and stylers act on a fibre that is no longer living. They can reduce friction, improve manageability, limit some forms of damage and make hair easier to handle.

No cosmetic product is established to accelerate the rate at which your follicles produce hair. Any product promising that is making a claim its category can't support.

Hairavie will never tell you a shampoo makes your hair grow faster.

General health matters, in an unglamorous way

Adequate overall nutrition, sleep and management of underlying health conditions support normal hair biology. What that mostly buys you is normal function, not extra function.

If shedding is sudden, heavy or persistent, or you notice thinning, widening parts, bald areas or scalp symptoms, that's a conversation for a qualified healthcare professional — not a shopping decision.

The part you can actually change

  • How much force your detangling and styling apply
  • How often and how hot you use heat
  • How much chemical processing overlaps
  • How well conditioned and lubricated the hair is when handled
  • How much tension your protective and everyday styles create

How Hairavie knows this

Hairavie cites peer-reviewed research, scientific reviews, reference textbooks, dermatology organisations and government health resources. Beauty blogs are never used as scientific authority.
